The man behind the controls - History of and thoughts from your host.
I was born and raised in Rochester, New York. I come from a great, supportive and loving family that sent me to private school where I became interested in business and art. After high school, I was a student in the Visual Communications Technology degree program at Monroe Community College. I received my Associate's Degree and transferred to the prestigious Rochester Institute of Technology where I really kicked my education into high-gear in their Graphic Design Bachelor's program.

Two years later, I received my degree and accepted a full-time graphic design position at Westley Associates, a small, local design firm. I had been doing part-time work for that firm during my time at RIT. After that first position, I taught web design at Monroe Community College for two years, during their intercession semesters. That was a valuable learning experience in how to communicate design principals and website technology to a diverse audience.

After working at Westley Associates and teaching at MCC, I accepted a design position at Quantum Communications. While there, I expanded my skill set. I designed catalogs, in-store displays, websites, participated in photo and video shoots, edited video, produced audio, etc. I even traveled with a production team to Las Vegas and Palm Beach to shoot infomercials. It was a great learning experience.

My next career move was to become Art Director at Archer Communications. While there, I worked mostly in print. I created many brand IDs and participated in IMC programs. The emphasis was on branding and strategic marcom. I enjoyed the proactive approach that the agency embraced and was inspired to adopt that philosophy as my own. I worked on a variety of projects, both long and short term, for clients both large and small. While at Archer, I also managed other creatives: mechanical artists, graphic designers and freelancers. I enjoyed managing just as much as the hands-on work.

I resigned from Archer Communications to accept a position as Creative Manager at LogicalSolutions.net, a local web design leader. Shortly after my hire, I was recognized with an 'employee of the month' distinction for my design contributions and initiatives to advance the creative department. My role as a Creative Manager entailed design and functionality consultation, brand integrity, GUI design, content design/graphics and internal branding and sales support. I learned a great deal while at LogicalSolutions.net and have rounded out my skill set to an impressive level.

My ultimate goal is to work in a larger full-service agency that strategically services local, regional and national accounts through a variety of marketing/design channels. I look forward to working on team-based projects as well as managing other creatives. End
